LGS Score & Percentile Calculation

LGS Score & Percentile Calculation

This tool is primarily for Turkey.

How to Use?

1

Enter Your Trial Nets

Write the True-False (or directly Net) numbers you made from Turkish, Mathematics, Science, History of Revolution, Religious Culture and English courses in the boxes.

2

Let the MEB Analysis Engine Work

In the background, the system where 3 wrongs lead to 1 right and the standard deviation coefficients of each course according to years are covered.

3

Learn Your Score from the List

View not only your raw score but also your average LGS Central Placement (MEB) score out of 500 on the screen.

What is this tool for?

3 Wrong Cancels 1 Right

In the LGS exam, when you make 3 wrong answers for each subject, 1 of your mathematical correct answers (net) is deleted. Score calculation is based on net score.

Coefficients of Subjects (Degree of Importance)

While each correct net in Mathematics, Science and Turkish subjects brings the highest score (Weighted 4 coefficients), other verbal subjects bring Weighted 1 coefficient score.

The Reality of Standard Deviation

Since Turkey's average of each year changes in LGS calculation (Whether a test is very difficult or easy), scores may show ± 5 points deviation according to years.

What is Percentile?

It is your position in the Turkey ranking rather than your score. Science High Schools look at whether you are in the top 1% among 1,000,000 students (Percentile), not your score.

When should you use this?

LGS Score Estimation

Estimate your High School Entrance Exam (LGS) score based on correct and incorrect answers.

  • - Formula: We use the 3-wrong-cancels-1-right rule and current coefficient estimates for each subject area.
  • Important: Coefficients vary slightly each year based on exam difficulty and average results.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, due to the MEB (Ministry of National Education) formula, even if you leave all the questions in the exam blank (or even fall into negative net), the student is given '100' as a base score by the system and coefficient points brought by all nets are added on top of this 100 to reach 500 points.
Absolutely yes. If the Mathematics average in Turkey is very low that year (i.e. if the questions are difficult), according to the standard deviation formula, each Mathematics net you make will bring you a higher score.
No. While entering qualified high schools with 'Central Placement (Assignment from the Center with LGS Score)', your middle school diploma grade (OBP) is never added to the exam. OBP is only effective in address-based (Local Placement) non-lottery registrations.
It works with quite high consistency based on the net coefficients of past years. However, since the number of students taking the official exam every year and the Turkish variance (deviation) of correct numbers will differentiate, it is natural for minor half-point millimetric deviations to occur.
