How to Use?

1

Research the Distance You Will Travel

Check the distance between your current location and your destination route (e.g. 15 km) from Google or Yandex Maps application.

2

Enter KM Data into the System

Write this mileage as a whole or as a decimal value (such as 15.5) on our vehicle on the screen.

3

Press Calculate Price Button

The average travel money that will come out of your wallet will be listed by multiplying it with the current taximeter tariff (Opening + KM Success).

What is this tool for?

Initial (Base) Fee

This is the first fixed, starting fee recorded to your account from the moment you get in the taxi and turn on the meter.

Tariff Per Kilometer

Road fee that will be added by being thrown like a counter on the taximeter for every 1 (one) kilometer distance the wheel turns.

Waiting (Traffic) Charge

This fee, calculated under normal conditions, can inflate with the "Waiting/Minute" tariff of the taximeter at the moment the vehicle STOPS in bridge traffic or at lights.

Minimum Shipping Case

There is a minimum (hop-on and hop-off) limit tariff that you must pay by law, even for the shortest distance trips of yellow taxis (even if you go 1 km).

When should you use this?

End of the Bargaining Period with Taxi Drivers: Adjust Your Budget According to Your Destination

Taxis, which are life-savers in the intense (stressful) transportation life in metropolises when catching an airport or returning from a tiring hospital day, give many people fear due to the perception of unknown price (Surprise Taximeter). Digitalization is breaking the taxi phobia in the form of "I wonder if the cash in my wallet will be enough after getting in? Or will I get off halfway and look for an ATM with a credit card POS device?". ToolBoxTR Taxi Fare Calculation software carries that Amount, which will be reflected from the digital mirror in the driver's seat, to your phone with its most realistic variance before you hit the road.

How Does a Taximeter Write? Secret Cost Anatomy of the Taxi

A taximeter is actually a simple mathematical device. It has two main variables, the first of which is the "Distance KM" at the rotation speed of the wheel, and the second is the "Timer (Second) Waiting Number" that kicks in when the wheel stops:

Opening (Minimum Fixed Rate):

The initial property fee for the taxi driver taking you into the car (as a customer) and turning the steering wheel (determined by UKOME or the Municipality).

Cost Per Unit:

The highest volume cost item written based on the fuel burned and labor spent by the taxi in 1 Kilometer. (That is, as much as your road extends, the inflation of the tariff increases accordingly).

Getting Stuck in Traffic (Waiting Cost):

When you stay in traffic in the car (e.g. on the E5 Bosphorus Bridge) and cannot move, the driver only burns fuel but cannot earn km. In order not to victimize the taxi driver, when the speed falls below a certain level (e.g. 15 km/h), the Taximeter automatically switches to the "Waiting Fee (Per Minute Amount)". This is the dark spot where your price actually inflates.

Getting-In-and-Out Warning: Minimum Transport Rules

If you get into the car to go to your house just 3 streets behind (for example 1.2 Km) when it snows or rains; and if the total of Opening + 1 Km fee comes out cheap when calculating the formula, do not be happy. Due to the "Short Distance (Getting-In-and-Out)" application of municipalities, the minimum amount kicks in. In other words, although the taximeter writes "10 TL", if the legal limit is determined as (for example "100 TL"), you are obliged to give that minimum figure to the taxi driver to go 3 streets. Our calculation tool serves as a financial guide to be an umbrella for you in these economic fluctuations.

Frequently Asked Questions

The displayed fare is an ESTIMATED price (based on a direct route / no traffic). If the driver does not extend the route during the trip and the taximeter does not add waiting charges due to traffic, the price usually ends up being the same as the calculated amount.
In Turkey, the dual tariff system (Night/Day price difference) was abolished many years ago and replaced with a single tariff. The taximeter fare you pay in the morning is the same as the fare you would pay at 3 AM in major cities such as Istanbul.
No, they are not the same. The formula used in our tool (by default) is indexed to standard C-segment YELLOW commercial taxis. Turquoise or D-segment (Black/Luxury) taxis usually have a starting fare that is about 15% to 30% more expensive.
Toll fees (HGS/OGS) are NOT INCLUDED in the price calculated by the application. If your route includes a paid bridge crossing or the Eurasia Tunnel, the passenger must pay these toll charges separately to the driver (with receipt), in addition to the taximeter fare.
